You should know how to crochet following stitches:
- ch (chain), sl st (slip stitch), sc (single crochet), hdc (half double crochet), dc (double crochet)
This pattern includes:

Crochet hook:
- 2.75 mm or size to match your yarn
Recommended materials:
- Fingering weight yarn (100 g / 3.5 oz / 300 m / 330 yards);
shown here – Lithuanian 6 ply Linen Yarn from YarnStories on Etsy, 20 g in #401 Marsala and 50 g in #102 Natural White for the bag, 10 g in #401 and 20 g in #102 for the pot-holder.
Buy 3 ply (100 g / 3.5 oz / 600 m / 660 yards) and use 2 strands, one from inside and another from outside of one ball (fingering weight requires 6 ply of this yarn)
- tapestry needle to weave in ends, 4 pins
Size:
- Bag is 17 x 17 cm (6 5/8'' x 6 5/8''), fringe – 18 cm (7'') long, handle – 110 cm (43 3/8'') long. Pot-holder is about 15.5 x 15.5 cm (6 x 6'')
Gauge:
- 24 stitches x 11 rows = 4 x 4'' (10 x 10) cm in Double Crochet Stitch
- Gauge is not important for this project
